Bali in One Day by Scooter: Realistic Routes from Morning to Sunset
By the SiapPergi Editorial Team · Published · 7 min read

Got one free day and want to see as much as possible? It's tempting to try to circle the whole island, but winding roads and traffic make that exhausting. Here are three one-day routes that are realistic and still memorable.
Three one-day routes
| Route | Highlights | Approx. return distance |
|---|---|---|
| Ubud | Tegallalang, Tirta Empul, Tegenungan waterfall | ± 90 km from Kuta |
| Bedugul–Tanah Lot | Ulun Danu Beratan, Jatiluwih, Tanah Lot at sunset | ± 120 km from Kuta |
| Uluwatu Bukit | Melasti, Padang Padang, Uluwatu Temple at sunset | ± 60 km from Kuta |
Distances are from Kuta and are estimates. From Canggu, the Bedugul–Tanah Lot route is closer; from Sanur or Nusa Dua, the Bukit route is more practical.
Sample schedule: the Ubud route
- 07:30 leave Kuta or Seminyak.
- 09:00 Tegallalang before the crowds.
- 11:00 Tirta Empul, then lunch in Ubud.
- 14:00 Tegenungan waterfall or Goa Gajah.
- 16:30 head back south before dark.
Tips to avoid exhaustion
Limit yourself to 3–4 stops. Rest and drink every 1–1.5 hours. Avoid mountain roads after dark. For longer trips, see the 3-day itinerary or the 7-day one.
Fill the tank before you leave and carry a raincoat. The weather in Ubud and Bedugul can change fast.
