Using ATMs safely

  • Choose ATMs inside banks, malls or supermarkets.
  • Cover the keypad and check the card slot for loose parts.
  • Withdraw larger amounts less often to reduce fees.
  • Don't let anyone "help" you at the machine.

Keeping cash safe while riding

Keep a small amount in an easy pocket for parking and the rest in a zipped bag. Never leave cash or cards under the seat when you park. For fuel tips, see fuel, petrol stations & parking and saving fuel.

Break big notes at a supermarket or petrol station before heading to the villages; small stalls often can't change IDR 100,000 notes.

Scooters from IDR 70,000/day; payment methods are confirmed when you book. Book on WhatsApp or via the Bali scooter rental catalogue: the bike is delivered to your hotel or villa and you pay when it arrives. More at SiapPergi — Bali scooter rental.
